Update

Whew, haven't been here in a while. MOTM has been somewhat busy, with one of our films up for an award at the 2006 Eerie Horror Film Fest in Erie, PA, and production wraping on the first season of Contracts. We are hoping to get back to PCH in the next few weeks, especially with the holidays coming up and some free time over the weekends. I here it's still pretty tightly sealed up, and we are still not sure on how the vote went to raise funds to destroy the facility. I only hope we get there before it's too late!

More to come...

New Pictures Part I

Just a few of the MANY pics we've got during out shoots... enjoy & i'll post more soon!

Belated Update-- Visit # 3

A few weeks ago, we once again tried to gain access to the inner hosptal. However, our two entrances were sealed tightly up, and while the cop cruiser was nowhere to be seen, we were still unable to get in.

We are planning a 4th early morning attempt, this time with a wonder-bar in toe... 4th time the charm???

Let hope so....

Fall 2006

Once a place to go and heal...
Once a place people were sent to die...

Plymouth County Hospital has sat decaying and alone in the backwoods or Hanson, MA for nearly 15 years, brining upon the town financial woes, safety concerns, and not so sweet memories.

At times witty and sharp, at time bittersweet and poignant, Red Roof examines just how the decrepit hospital has affected a town...

Chaise Abandoned

(^ A seemingly odd shot that I thought deserved it's own post! )

The Outer Limits

Here are a selection of pictures taken from in the forests behind the hospital... I do apologize for the somewhat blurred picture or two...

(^ An old outpatient building ?)

(^ A seemingly new trailer/building that cointained nothing more than some aged wood and an Enter sign.)

(^ What appeared to be a flooded storage unit.)

(^ A shot of the clearing behind the hospital, with an old acess road.)

Production Notes 6/10/06

(Above) A Selection of favorite pictures from the shoot.

Today we returned to the hospital with some old friends in tow. Upon arrival, we made a close call with a passive cop cruiser, and we ended up trekking around some large dirt mounds and into the woods. We found ourselves in the outer regions of the eastern building, parallel to the cruiser. We stalked the back-woods, looking in to what appeared to be an old storage bin, and later some run-down and now decrepit old staff buildings. We traced out steps back to the side of the east building, and followed the wall to the back of the building, to avoid detection. When we failed to find a usable way in, we returned to the now un-watched main entrance. From there we filmed again in the side court-yard, and then made the discover of a small opening into the apprently un-tocuhed autoclave room. We recovered a few artifacts, and as the sun slowly broke through the rain clouds, we moved out.
